Tuesday, January 21: Pre-Conference Tracks
The Rooted in Jesus Pre-Conferences are a great opportunity to have specific and curated experiences that focus on your ministry needs. In order to register for a pre-conference, you must be registered for the main Rooted in Jesus Conference.
Forma and ECF Pre-conference:
The Forma pre-conference will have several options for participants. You can choose to take a series of workshops on various topics, or you can do a deep dive into one subject matter. Workshops will be announced in September of 2019!
Deep dive 1: "You are loved" - LBGTQ awareness and inclusion for your church. Led by Rev. Matthew Welsch and Rev. Lauren Kay. This group will follow their own schedule on Tuesday, Jan. 21 and then have the freedom to join the rest of the pre-conference participants on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
Deep Dive 2: "Dismantling Racism Youth Curriculum Training" - Get your mandated Anti-Racism training and complete the youth curriculum training all at once! This group will meet at the Absalom Jones Center for Racial Healing on Tuesday and Wednesday. Participants in this pre-conference will miss the Forma Annual Meeting.
Deep Dive 3: "Leadership for Formation practitioners" Join Melissa Rau, Lisa Kimball, Julie Lytle, and others to talk about how we form leaders and how we develop our own leadership skills. This will be especially useful for those who have been in ministry for several years. This group will follow a specific set of workshops following the schedule below. Other participants may drop in for one workshop if there is room available.

Tuesday 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm - Live streaming event and more - mix and mingle with participants from all the pre-conference offerings.

Evangelism Matters Pre-Conference:
The Evangelism Matters pre-conference will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 21 from 9 am - 5 pm. Stay tuned for more details!
Episcopal Preaching Foundation Pre-Conference:
This pre-conference will be a short intensive focusing on preaching techniques and tools for preaching excellence. Will take place Wednesday, Jan. 22 from 9 am - 12:30 pm. Details coming soon.

1:00 PM - 2:30 PM: Welcoming and Opening Plenary with William Barber
The Rev. Dr. William Barber, President of Repairers of the Breach. William J. Barber, II is a pastor and social justice advocate building a broad-based grassroots movement, grounded in the moral tenets of faith-based communities and the constitution, to confront systemic racism, poverty, environmental devastation, the war economy and the distorted moral narrative of religious nationalism in America today. As pastor of Greenleaf Christian Church in Goldsboro, North Carolina (since 1993) and president of the North Carolina Conference of the NAACP (2005–2017), Barber approaches social justice through the lens of the ethical and moral treatment of people as laid out in the Christian Bible, the Reconstruction and civil rights movements of the South, and the United States Constitution.

Join the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Atlanta for ReviveATL: Love in Action, an Episcopal Church Revival, on January 22nd from 6-8pm, at the Atlanta University Center. In attendance will be Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, and Bishop Rob Wright, the 10th Bishop of the Diocese of Atlanta. What does Love in Action look like? Attend to hear how we live into our call to serve Jesus and love as he loves the unwelcome, the disenfranchised, the lost, and the found. Come experience Love in Action.
