Reinvigorating Your Formation Ministry Toolbox
Wikipedia defines a toolbox (also called toolkit, tool chest, or workbox) as “a box to organize, carry, and protect the owner's tools. They could be used for trade, a hobby or DIY, and their contents vary with the craft of the owner.” As formation leaders, our toolbox cannot be contained within the confines of a box with handles. It is much more expansive and includes what we hold in our hearts and minds as well as our smartphones, book shelves, and saved websites. Yes, it needs to hold the tricks of the trade, but it also needs to contain those elements that nurture us so that we can support others in their life in Christ. Refill your “toolboxes” with nuts & bolts, power tools, goggles & gloves, and torches & matches to ease your work, reimagine a new project, and share in enriching conversation.
